Batman Arkham Asylum Demo FTW!!!

This night, before I went bowling, I had stopped by my local Best Buy to say hi to a friend I hadn't seen in a while. Then wouldn't you know it but I spot on the PS3 demo station thingy what looks to be the demo for Arkham Asylum. So I make a bee-line for the station-thingy and to my glee it IS the demo!!! Now, I want to say that I already had high hopes for the game but playing it even in demo form shot those hopes in the face with a bullet made of amazing AKA it was awesome. I'll edit this update more tomorrow when I'm more awake and the words to express the fantastic that was Arkham Asylum can become coherent

hate for my laptop knows no bounds!

this has nothing to do with previous posts but I really hate my laptop. SO much. Don't get me wrong, it works fine for what I need to do(typing, watching movies, facebook-ing) but the little things that DON'T work screw it all up. Such as the arrow keys. Awhile ago i put a cup of tea next to the keyboard[<----------idiot move 0__o] my friend who was laying with her feet towards the tea cup kicked out, by accident, and spilt tea on my keyboard. For a while it was fine now....lets just say that the down arrow has a mind of its own. Also the battery is shit and there's these lines that run down the screen that just add to the anger seething out towards this damned machine

Sittin in a Diner...

I can honestly say I'm not a big art fan. Graffiti is cool if its actually something artistic and not just obnoxious gang tagging but other then that there is very little art pieces I enjoy. Except for Nighthawks by Edward Hopper. More than likely your pretty much guranteed to have seen it before(especially if you look at the top of this post), so there's not a big need for me to explain what it looks like to you then. So i should just get on to why I like it. I like it because it's...gloomy and dark. Full of sadness and isolation. For me it conjures up images of nights out at Starbucks just hanging out, drinking a coffee, thoughts of my own and what-not. Each patron in that diner wheather there with someone or not is off on their own. They're all in their own little worlds with nothing around them to bring them out of it. Then there's outside the diner, where nothing seems to be happining, no street lights, no open stores, nada. It brings about those times at around 3am when you can be driving about yet all the streets are empty and quiet, not a soul in sight, and its weird and quiet. That last person on earth vibe.
Ok I'm done, I hope this was coherrant because sometimes when I talk and type thoughts usually just come spilling out my head in a strange order.

I'm so tired of crazy hard achievements!!!

If your a owner of Microsoft's Xbox 360 or at least have played one then you are probably familiar with the achievement system. If not then I'll go over it pretty quick, for the games on the 360 there are achievements which are obtained by achieving(get it?) certain things throughout playing the game(such as completing levels or maybe getting a thousand headshots). Now, anytime you unlock an achievement you get this nifty lil points that add to your gamerscore. Each amounts points given usually correlates to the difficulty, such as finishing an entire game on the hardest difficulty might net you 150/200 gamerpoints. Get it? Got it? Good.
Ok now my problem with some achievements is that i've noticed they require you do some very difficult things and reward you with very meager points. Such as in Ninja Gaiden 2. There is eight weapons to eviscerate your opponents with, ranging from the regular katana to a giant Scythe. Now each weapon has its own achievement for beating the game AGAIN with using only that individual weapon.
Now, take a guess how many points they would offer you for beating the game eight times over and over and over and over and over and over and over? 30? 40? NO!!! they offer a miniscule 5 gamerpoints to beat the game each time.
I guess if your not a person who plays on an xbox 5 points might seem great, but its not. especially in the face of people on xboxlive who have a gamerscore in excess of 100,000.
In actuallity I don't think I can blame xbox. Because for all I know they have no control over what each achievement award is given but all I'm trying to say is that if you're going to make us gamers work hard for something it'd be a little more satisfying if the reward was better?

Dark Knight in IMAX

ok, for what must be the ninth time I went with my friend to S.F. to see The Dark Knight on IMAX because out of the other eight times I've seen it it wasn't in IMAX so I was a little excited(even with the $15 ticket price). for IMAX i've seen three movies, including T.D.K. and the massive screen with the fantastic surround sound is always a treat, for the right movies of course. I don't need to review it and I won't because there's like a 99.999% chance you've already seen it. but I'll say if you love the dark knight and havent't seen it too many times go check it out, because the scenes that take up the WHOLE screen will make you literally feel like you're there. P.S. Two-face dies

Afro Samurai Resurrection

For all the fans who loved the bloody, cool violence of Afro Samurai about a year ago. Should be happy to have heard about Afro Samurai: Resurrection which came out in a two hour movie on Spike on Sunday and releases Feb 3 in three editions. Spike-TV version, Uncut(recommended!) and Blu-Ray.
In the first Afro Samurai he lived his life waiting to get vengeance against the holder of the #1 headband, Justice, for the death of his father. Through many battles with bald, power hungry monks, a robot version of himself, various assassins, and a long thought dead friend from his past. Afro finally confronts Justice and defeats him, thereby becoming the new #1.
In Resurrection Afro is still the #1 but lives a life of solitude and repentance for all the killing his committed on his path to vengeance. Until more people from his past come and beat Afro, steal his father's skull, and tell him they're going to resurrect him. This sparks Afro to go on another journey to retrieve the #2 headband so he can challenge his enemies and retrieve his father's skull back.
I don't want to say much and ruin the plot of story. but I'll say that if your a fan of Afro Samurai this is a must see. And if you haven't experienced this fantastic anime then I suggest renting it through netflix, or watching it online because if you are into action-packed anime with a fantastic storyline then this is the way to go.
